Piers joined Five Oceans at inception and has over 19 years' experience in the investment management industry. Piers began his career as a portfolio manager at Edinburgh Fund Managers PLC and was a Divisional Director as well as head of its Derivative Products Group. In 2001, Piers was a founding partner of Ailsa Capital Management LLP, an equity long/short investment management boutique.

Piers has a Master of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Nottingham Trent University. He is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and a member of the UK Society of Technical Analysts. Piers has achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is Certified Financial Technician with the International Federation of Technical Analysts and is a Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
