Piers has been with Five Oceans since its inception and has over 16 years' experience in the investment industry, predominantly in Edinburgh. He spent eight years as a fund manager with Edinburgh Fund Managers PLC covering UK and US equity markets. In 2001, Piers became a founding partner of Ailsa Capital Management LLP, a US equity long/short investment management boutique company. This business was ultimately acquired by Collins Stewart Limited, Edinburgh where Piers managed a US equity portfolio until he moved to Australia.

Piers has a Master of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Nottingham Trent University. He is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, a member of the UK Society of Technical Analysts and has achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.
